We have been getting a ton of snow lately, record breaking snow. So I have been trying my hardest to find ways to photograph this amazingness. The other day I noticed the beautiful light coming in my windows after the snow stopped and the sun came out and reflected off the wonderful white stuff in the afternoons. So I brought my oldest over to the window and while she was twirling to Disney tunes, I snapped a few. You want to try? Here's how:
Get your kids over to the window and snaps some pictures. Just make sure you focus on them and not out the window. If you want to get even better exposure, get out your cameral manual and find out how to put your camera on SPOT metering instead of overall metering. Every camera can do it. It changes the settings so that the camera decides its exposure from whats in the middle "spot" of the camera and not the average exposure for the scene. The window will be way bright, but your little munchin will be perfect, and surrounded by some sunshiny pureness. Make any sense? Now go to it.
